Three levels of volunteering

"Local hero"
More or less regular service, with relatively familiar tasks and expectations, on your schedule or ours
Examples: using FileMaker databases; caring for plants; phone calling; errands

"Expert on call"
Irregular service as need arises for special abilities or professional experience
Examples: Dreamweaver and web design; Mac hardware and software; digital imagery and video; conferring with facilitators on adult learning dynamics

"Board"
Rare opportunity to shape a unique and truly pioneering organization through service on the board of directors; acquire experience (and credentials) in directly governing, planning, and ensuring the future of the LWC, for a year or longer
Examples: background and skills in fundraising, marketing, law, HR, or business development
