How our groups work

In the company of others, explore and thoroughly define the work that your life is calling out for you to do. Do the defining through stimulating, innovative, and thought-provoking exercises, all the while working in a supportive group setting and while being mindful of the needs of your human spirit.

Our ongoing program features groups meeting once weekly for two hours; the typical participant stays for about nine months (think of the program as a two-semester college course). The curriculum is designed to accommodate newcomers at any time, so you’ll join a group already in progress but easily merge with your fellow participants.

For an alternative to committing to a program with a relaxed pace, look into our 8-week program; the next groups start on January 7, 2009 (8 Wednesday evening cycle) and January 22 (8 Thursday evening cycle) . For schedules:

What our groups cost

The fee for the ongoing program is at an affordable nonprofit rate of $15 per hour, or $120 per month. Payment is month by month, or quarterly if you prefer that for convenience and to heighten your commitment to regular attendance.

The fee for the 8-week program is $595 (about $25 per hour). If you pay the full fee in advance, you receive a discount of $45, making the fee $550. Advance payment is required with registration. A deposit of $300 secures a space; installment payments are an option. Enrollment in the 8-week group is limited to the first nine people securing their registration by advance payment.

When our groups meet

Here's information on the two regular or ongoing groups under way or beginning this month, both at the Life’s Work Center, near BART in San Francisco:

(1) Mondays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
(2) Saturdays, 10:00 to noon

Again: the ongoing program is expressly designed for newcomers to join at any time. The 8-week program is a closed and limited (and smaller) group, requiring advance registration (see details).
